Walnut Ketchup Take 100 Walnuts when you can run a pin thro' them cut them in slices likewise 1/4 lb of shalots beat them together in a Mortar then mash them into an earthen pan with 1/2 lb of common salt and a pint of vinegar let them lay a week stirring them three times a day press them thro a coarse cloth and let the liquor run a Jelly bag then boil and put to it 1/4 lb of an cherries taking off the skins as it rises your spices may be added consisting of cloves
