Almond Cakes excellent Take 3/4 lb of ground Almonds 1 oz bitter do 3/4 lb powdered Sugar a few drops of essence of Lemon add 16 eggs leaving out 4 of the whites - the above quantity will Make two good Sized cakes The Shapes they are baked in Must be greased with a little butter and they Must be well beaten for one hour and a quarter To be baked in a moderately heated oven
