"Barley Water" An Infusion of Lemon Juice, an oz of Gum Arabic and a little Sugar, to a Pint of Barley Water "Apple Water" One large Apple well-baked and mashed. Pour on this 1 Pint of hot water. Strain and add Sugar and Lemon Juice to taste. Remedy for "Typhus" or "Low Fever" A tablespoonful of Yeast given frequently mixed with any Liquid the Patient is drinking "Cold Cream" Cake of Wax and Spermacetti, of each a drachm Melt them in 2 oz of oil of Almonds, then beat it well up with 1 1/2 oz of Rose Water (3 tablespoonsful)
