For strengthening the Hair (Mrs Wallace 1079) Take a Quart of Bran boil it in a quart of water till reduced to a pint. Strain and add 2 Tablespoonfuls of Good Rum and 1 ditto of vinegar, wash the head well with the Mixture, which must be tepid. Repeat about twice a week. Take a pound of marrow well blanch in cold water till quite clean, add 1/2 oz powdered Bark. Simmer together and strain twice through Muslin pour into Pots. To be used as often as necessary. Sore or cracked nipples Apply poor man's plaister to the parts, then some lily leaves steeped in Brandy. [illegible] metallic Shields. the ointment need not be removed when nursing as it will keep the child's mouth healthy.
