Recipe for Boot Varnish H Paget /00 1 Bottle Stout [2?] Small ditto of Ink 3 oz [Green?] 3 oz Sugar Candy 1 Claret glass of Spirits of Wine [illegible] to be added after the above has slowly simmered for a full hour, & stirred the whole time. When cold to be passed thro thin Muslin For Diarrhoea - Mr Leggatt/00 5 Drops of Laudanum small teaspoonful powdered Magnesia 10 Drops Chloric Ether for diarrhoea [illegible] 880 10 drops laudanum, 10 drops Chloric Ether, 20 drops Salvolatile in a wine glass of water
