Rheumatism in the Muscles Sir [illegible]] Half an oz of Chloroform mixed in 2 1/2 oz of olive oil & rubbed in for a quarter of an hour. Cure for a Cough 1 oz Hops. 1 oz Linseed. 1 oz Spanish Lignonia to be boiled in 3 Pints of water reduced to 2 Pints. To be taken cold in the morning on waking when the Cough is troublesome. Camphor Balls [illegible] Spermaceti. 2 oz Purified Lard 2 oz. Camphor 1/2 oz very small White Wax 1/2 oz Melt and pour into small Cups or Egg cups when cold turn it out. A small piece of Alkenet Root [illegible] in while Ingredients are melting will color it pink and a few drops of oil of Roses added at the last scents it nicely Cough Mixture (Hughes) Equal quantities of Paregoric, Salvolatile, bouquet of Squill Spermaceti, Laudanum and Water. Saponaria Quilaya Bark Hair Wash on one oz of bark pour 1 pint of boiling water and allow it to infuse overnight then strain
