Rippey Greene Co. Iowa. January 5th 1888. Dear Sister Ellen. I have your late letter when we saw your hand writing on the envelope we all were happy as the thought of hearing from you & folks - we never thought it would tell us of sickness, accident & death - Dear Mr. Miller & Ellen you have our hearts sympathy in the trouble & affliction you have been called to pass through in the year 1887. And in speaking of dear little Edwin I can assure you that he is with Jesus he will never suffer or any more can death claim him. It remains for us to be 1st ready & waiting when we hear the summons.
