Mrs Hastings receipt for Curry Soup Take two large Table Spoonfuls of Curry powder a handful of rice pounded fry the Rice then put the powder in a small muslin Bag - take two Chickens or one large fowl cut them the same way as for a [illegible] and boil them almost tender in 2 quarts of veal Broth or Beef Tea then take every piece of the fowl or Chicken and rub them in a little flour and fry them in a pan with two or three onions chopped small then put them again in your Broth with the little Bag a little Salt and Lemon juice and let all Boil together till the the meat is tender when you dish it remember to take out the muslin Bag and have a dish of dry Boiled rice to eat with it -
