58 Orange Shrub Dr. Munter A pound (a Mutchkin]) of Juice and two pounds fine Sugar to a Scotch Pint of Rum make the Sugar into a Syrup add the Rum and the Juice to it and either let the whole stand till it settles and pour off the [Char?] or run it twice thro a Jelly Bag - which will [char?] it much more quickly - To preserve Strawberries or Rasp-Berries To do very fine in the same pan as they crush each other - to [reserve?] a third part of the Sugar [grated?] and Sprinkle the Berries with it whenever they Boil up to the Top Mrs Watt To keep apples - Mrs. Watt gather the fruit very carefully and put them down with the hand into a large heap - cover them entirely from the air and never wipe or Separate them
