135 German biscuits Rub in a quarter of a lb of butter amongst half a lb of flour, 1/4 lb of Sugar, a little Carbonate of Soda, moisten with one egg, and Season with a few drops of the essence of bitter almonds put it into small bits on a buttered tin, as rough as possible, Bake in a slow oven. [Blibo?] 1871 Dressed Potatoes Take a dozen of potatoes and wash them clean - put them in a quick oven an hour & a half before dinner - take them out ten minutes before dishing them - Cut a bit of the skin and take out the inside, rub it through a hair sieve. have ready in a clean pan a large cup full of cream and a little salt, mix the potatoes and this well together - on the fire then add the whites of 3 eggs well whipped and fill the skins - Put them in the oven for two minutes and dish them - [illegible] - 1871
