Provincial Medical + Surgical Association It may be safety used by an unprofessional person both externally + internally in all cases of hemorrhage. Externally the underside of the leaf is preferable to the smooth or upper side. Internally, the decoction or infusion may be easily given, half an ounce to the pint and the dose, 3 tablespoonfuls, increasing the strength to one ounce to the pint gradually suspending its use for a day and substituting a gentle purgative but if it produces nausea it should be omitted for a few days. I have latterly used a powder of the leaves or snuff in cases of common bleeding from the nose with snuffs. Mr Clay chemist Bold STreet Liverpool has every preparation Yours truly W Davis
