Philadela, May 4th, 1866 Sister Ellen, I received your welcome letter today, and am glad you are all well, I feel much better today I slept nearly the entire forenoon in the parlor on the soda, a very soft lounge indeed. I did not get lonely when I was sick for every day some acquaintance came to see me. Ellen, there are some nice young fellows here, well, they should, for they have attended school from the time they could walk. Ellen, you should be here to see some of the performances, I have seen great deal of fun since the last four days, Aunt has an old maid for a cook, who was once "love disappointed" and she always will have her old [phiz?] always before, when any young fellow comes
