She calls to mind the dream had some years ago about the young lady - not being rich - but the beauty - this is the reverse of the picture - riches versus beauty - Do you see, sometimes I happen to get a real good substantial lunch from the good old Mrs. A - for which I never fail to compliment her skill in preparing[.] Then, too I have my eyes single for business, which I'm only now preparing for [miation?] - expect business calls from some of the kith and kin . . . Last Wednesday eve, I accepted an invitation to be present at a "Calico party" in West Phila. as a matter of policy I went - got in the graces of several of the elderly ladies and had a very good time - the ladies were all dressed in Calico which is rather a rare oddity - Mrs. Harris was very sick yesterday
