September 16th 1877 Most respected cousin Al I have been away for over a month in the country trying to get a rest I guess the old store is going back on me and just got back last tuesday afternoon I went to the store and worked the rest of the day how is that for lazy folks I gained eight pounds while in the country and as long as I didnt have to work I felt pretty good, but that dont agree with me the folks are all well except Gina [Flash?] Manies husband we do not expect him to live I was up all night thursday
