mer that it seems as though I have not done anything wirth speaking of. I suppose Miltons told you that Sallie Hardie was visiting us, she was here about two months, during that time I did not accom- plish anything, for it just kept me busy keeping the house in order, the summer passed away so rapidly, I scarcely realized it was here until it had gone. and now Fall had made its appearance. yes, and almost gone, the Autumn leaves are appearing in gorgeous hues, with breezes sighing "Winter comes" I always feel sad when Winter comes although it has its pleasures as well as summer. Ellie I have just been thinking this evening of "the days of the years of my life" slipping away so imperceptibly-and been wondering, who, if anyone has been, or ever will be at all benefeted by my living in the world, I dont think any one ever will
