took us on to McGregor, 2 miles farther. It was noon when we got there. May stayed with Linn & the Joneses & they ate in the hall. I ate in the cars with the Cragins. In the afternoon some of the young ladies danced in the hall & the rest walked about McGregor for a while. Then the train backed down to "Pictured Rocks" & we managed to get a little sand without getting wet. Mr. Cragin filled a bottle for Gracie & I. We had lots of fun in the cars coming & going & altogether a nicer time than we would have expected if ye had known it was going to rain. Friday Sept 3rd Played croquet at Mr. Richards all afternoon. Read some in the fair maid of Perth.
