Monday. Nov 1. Miss L. to school again. Tuesday Nov 2. Linn, May & I went over to Allie's to take home a book of Gracies, that I have been reading. The name is "Running to Waste", it is good enough for a story, thats all. We stayed all evening. Wed. Nov 3 Written examination this P. M. O! how I hate it. I dont think there was ever so much sickness in Dubuque as there is now. It is principally the scarlet & typhoid fevers. Little May Howard died, Monday, Wally Wemott is very sick, Ruby & Frank Dickinson ditto, & everybody almost. Mamma is so afraid Grace will get the scarlet fever. May & I have had it.
