as if all the good there was in me was plastered on the outside, as if I resembled a kettle, all hollow but making a noise if struck. That is all true. I feel unusually hollow after going to a dance or company of almost any kind. Sunday 10th. Gracie & I went to our church this morning, & Papa & May went to the Universalist church to hear Mr Balch (a gentleman that he was once acquinted with, in Vermont) preach. I went to Sunday School in the afternoon & to hear to Mr Balch in the evening. I did not read much of anything. Looked over the sermon that I read last Sunday & read some about the revival in Boston from the Boston Journal. Sunday School
