Mrs. Woodward's Receipt to make Malt Rob. mother thinks good for [illegible] Pour a Quantity of boiling Water on a Peck of ground Amber Malt sufficient to wet it throughly; let it stand 24 Hours, then squeeze & strain it through a Sieve as long as you can get any Liquor from it; then put it into a preserving Pan & let it simmer over a Stove or slow fire till it thickens to a Rob; scum it well all the time & when it is done enough it will be of a Gluey Substance & looks like Treacle; pour it into Gally Pots & cover it wth. Bladders; a Tea Spoonful is to be take in the Morning fasting & at Night going to rest or any other Time upon an empty Stomach.
