Mrs O [Receipe?] for Elder Wine 1 gall picked Berries to 2 gall Water boil it well then strain it and put 3 lb of sugar to every gall of Wine and then boil it again for 1/2 an hours [1 p 21?] [4?] gall Berried for 10 gall Wine to make Champagne equal to Foreign gather the grapes half ripe pound them and to every qt pounded fruit put two qts water let stand fourteen days to every gallon of liquor put 3 lb lump sugar in 6 months it will be fit to bottle
