Very Nice Little Cakes 1/2 lb of Flour, 1/4 lb of loaf sugar, 1/4 lb of Butter 15 dops of lemon or almond essence or if you like a little ground ginger instead & one egg. Miss Worlners receipt. * S. Gilbert. Almond Cakes 1/2 lb of Flour, 1/2 lb loaf sugar, 3 oz of Butter, 1 oz of bitter almonds, 1 Egg, mix all well together, and place them on your tins, in pieces the size of a Walnut.
