Saving...
as much milk & water as will make a Paste, roll it thin & cut it with the top of a Canaster or Glass. Bake 15 minutes on Tin plates. Little short Cakes. Rub into 1 lb of Dried flour 4 oz of butter 4 oz of white powdered sugar 1 Egg & a spoonful or two of Cream or Milk to make it into a Paste. When it is mixed put Currants into one half & Carraway seeds into the other, Cut them into any shape you please & place them on your Tins. Plain & very Crisp Biscuits. One lb of Flour, the yolk of 1 Egg, a little milk make this into a stiff Paste, beat it well & knead it till its quite smooth, roll it thin & cut it into Biscuits bake them in a slow-oven till quite dry & crisp. Squab - Pie Cut some apples as for other pies, and lay them in [] with Mutton - chops, shred onions, and sprinkle among them some sugar.
