Caffee Au Lait 3 ozs of Coffee, 1 oz of Isinglass, nearly 1 pint of water. Let the Coffee just boil a minute and then start a little time before straining it through flannel, which must be done until quite clear, then pour the clear Coffee it, boil it a Minute, add 1 oz or more of sugar, and when that is dissolved put it in a Mould, and leave it to get fine. Take a piece out and pour boiling Milk over it for breakfast or Tea. Mrs. Howe Sents receipt April 29th / 56. A Good Spring Medecine 1 oz Root liquorice, 1 oz Dandelion-root boiled 20 minutes in 1 1/2 pint of water, strain it over 2 oz Epsom Salts, then bottle it for use, and take 1 wine-glassful night and morning. the liquorice should be cut in thin slices.
