Chocolate Sponge Cake Cream together 4 ozs mashed potato, 2 tablespoonsful sugar, & 2 or 3 oz margarine or lard. Blend 1 tablespooful dried egg with 2 tablespoonsfuls water (or use one beaten egg) beat for a few minutes. Stir into potato mixture 6 oz plain flour, mixture. Just before turning into a greased cake tin beat in & bake in a fairly hot oven about half an hour. Sunday Times 7th 1943
