-31- than that He might display and show His power before men. He that shuts and none can open: and He it is opens and none can shut. This afternoon at five o'clock we took the boat for Hunvaag, (it being about twelve miles) to see a Friend. Ida's father was with us. And he gathered a meeting for us. And soon we had a house full of people. The overflowing streams of the Gospel were opened, and the life ran freely. Many drooping souls were cheered and refreshed. This friend, whose house we went to see her; received us with great joy. After meeting a friend took me to his house to stay all night. I had a good night's rest. This was a fine man. And a fine part of Norway. We had traveled much over land and sea; and visited all of the scattered Friends except in Christian Sand. One or two persons who were members of Friends lived there. Not only to Friends has my mission been in Norway but to all classes of people. I have ommitted to mention many family visits we have made;- to Gyland, Roiseland, Stavanger and some other places. I was told that Stavanger had been inhabited four thousand years. We had come to Stavanger now for the last time. We were very busy packing our clothes to be ready to leave at ten o'clock for, Hull, a seaport in England. Many Friends called to see us for the last time
