-35- and ate our dinner. And had a meeting this after-noon at Bournbrook in the meeting house of Friends. It was a full meeting and many people were brought to tears by the ministry of Ida Chamness. Here the truth reigned over all to the praise of the Almighty. We went from this meeting to the house where I staid, which belonged to Friends. And many people came with us. And after a season of social conversation; all seemed to feel a stillness. And a solemn covering came over us; and one after another began to speak. We had a very much favored meeting, which was unexpected to all of us. So we learned through obedience in the school of Christ that God is a Spirit. And His ways are past finding out. After taking leave of many kind Friends we returned feeling thankful for the favors of the day. Our kind Friends, Edward Sturge and Annie, his wife, were very helpful to us in administering to our needs. William Land was also very kind in going with us. He met us in London. And traveled with us some in the British Isles. On the 2nd. day of the ninth month, 1912 We took the cars for Combfields, a distance of twelve miles. Where we were met by Henry Blake (a Friend), who, took us to his home. A high and noble family. His father Horatio's wife Mary Ann, is a true mother in Israel. And she seemed to me almost like a saint in the flesh. She was eighty years old, and very cheerful and lively in conversation.
