-36- sofa). She was deep and profound as to the things of God. They have two daughters, Jemima and Hannah, and one son. We were shown many old relics of various kinds (very beautiful). We had a very favored religious opportunity with the family. All of them did appreciate our visit highly. Ida was wonderfully led out in vocal prayer and tender pleading for them all. This occasion will be long remembered by them and by us, no doubt. They told me they lived twelve miles from where George Fox was born. The person that lived at George Fox's birth place had lately, sold out and moved away. He was a constable; and said he could not make a living there: the place was so quiet and peaceful; not enough of his kind of work to pay anything to him (the officer). That a divine atmosphere still lingered there. We now left for Birmingham, a notice having been given that morning in the paper, that we would hold a public meeting that evening at seven: thirty o'clock; in a large house occasionally used for public worship. The Friends selected this house for us instead of their own meeting house, to obtain the people at our meeting.
