-44- there. There was over one thousand people at this meeting. Many mothers stood two hours at a time with their babies in their arms; while the tears fell from their eyes; as we were engaged in proclaiming to them the saving knowledge of the Gospel; that gathers from every clime and nation, the wide world over. The policemen stood near us; they showed all respect and humility to us. And expressed their satisfaction with our communications etc. This meeting held near three hours. These street meetings reminded me of the street meetings held in London at the rise of the society of Friends: See Sewel's History. This was the town of Ebervale. We went to Cardiff; had a large meeting there; a free and open time. And the Gospel streams were largely opened; to the refreshing of many poor mourners in Zion. After meeting many expressed themselves to us and said they were thankful to us for our visit. These expressions were generally made; by people to us at nearly all of the meetings we held throughout Europe. I often told them I felt a living call to visit them in the love of the gospel. My mission in Europe was to awaken people, to the life and power of the Gospel. That so many were in the graves of death;
