-51- that prompted me to write thee such warm and full letters for over twelve months before we sailed for Europe. I see now what I never saw before, I myself was unable to make the journey alone: and there was not any one else that could aid me on that journey but thee, and thee alone, God had selected and prepared to go with me. And I say, let all the praise and renown be given to our God, who, rules in heaven and in earth. Who, opened the way and, filed thee for my help in the work of the ministry. Ida, thou was miraculously raised after being laid low for a good purpose by the Divine Hand to defeat the enemy of all good. I want to return thanks from my heart to God alone for this crowning victory to us, Ida, for ever and ever. Through thy obedience the trip was succesfully made; to the refreshing of many hearts, while the tears fell from many eyes. These thoughts are sweet and pure to me; and of a sacred nature from above, these I cherish in my heart. And are as golden dew drops to the tender plants of my soul. Ida, a history might be written from when thou left thy own home sick and not scarcely able to walk from one room to the next; and taking scarcely anything in thy stomach. In that faith that, comes by hearing of that divine sound in the soul; and moving of the Spirit of God, thou did leave thy own dear family for religious service in the foreign lands.
