-58- Not one in North Carolina Yearly meeting; that I can write to in expressing my desires and opening my prospects to like I can to thee; and thou knows we never planned the way. But we were first brought to feel the union and precious travel of kindred tie and spirit together; but of God, who, alone can and did accomplish in His own way; when -- was turning away from the truth, and became afraid to stand by thee in the truth. Then was his hour of darkness. O, how sad he must be over his own actions. I pity his condition. Now when I think of how they tried to stop me; and lay their own plans to cut me off in Philadelphia last spring (from going to Europe). I often wonder and say, 'had it not been for Ida Chamness; she having led me by the Spirit of God, it would all have been a failure, Ida. I want to say here last winter and spring, scarcely a night passed before I retired to bed; but what I kneeled upon my knees by my bed; and humbly asked the heavenly Father to be pleased to healthy poor afflicted body, to go with me to Europe.
