-61- the heavenly fold. It is like thou said, Ida, "Years were going fast." We see people have died away from that life; that inward light in the heart, and now teach the letter that kills the arising of the Spirit in the soul. The Spirit never misleads or errs from the truth. Upon this kind of teaching the false church has risen; that breeds confusion into the world to-day (viz.) wars and rumors of wars. Ida, when I write thee it is always from the movings and stirrings of the Spirit on the heart; by the same Spirit that made the heavens and the earth; which spoke this world into existence. The same that moved on the face of the waters and divided the outward creation, the day from the night. So it is the same Eternal Spirit of God that divides the spiritual day from the night; that operates on the hearts of the children of men. And this light is clear to the spiritual senses of all who have not darkened council. I can write to other people from the brain. But, when it comes to thee; little outward knowledge is necessary; but a constant stream of divine life that has no end arises in my heart; and moves on as the never setting sun. It used to puzzle me as to why it was so. But, now, and before now I have seen and known that it was one of the greatest
