-73- it is a private one from you because you have not enough unity in your select or monthly meeting to address such a letter to Ida R. Chamness with the authority of the meeting. And you have so far departed from the truth and disciplinary order of our society that you have sent a written request to one of our most favored ministers of the gospel of Christ not to come to your yearly meeting, without giving any specific charges against her. And have sent the letter to Jesse Negus, an old man now so feeble in mind that his own children can not trust him to feed his own stock: by the time he gets around he forgotten whether he has fed them or not. And your letter to him has made him a tattler and a tale bearer to the dishonor of truth. There are other letters which have been coming from your neighborhood to Nicholas Larson and wife to the dishonor of truth, and some also to Eunice Cook Mooris. This letter writing from you and your friends should be stopped. There is an opportunity for you, now who signed and endorsed a letter to Ida R. Chamness, to retract your steps.
