78 and said, "It feels something like going to execution." Thus I went and felt comforted in David White saying, 'he felt peaceful over me going.' And I had a letter from William Stanley two days before, telling that: 'He and Caroline Heald and husband were going." such a time; and felt best to let me know their plans, etc; I wondered at this, at the time. And as it proved; I had their company from Engel-wood to North Carolina; and William's back home. And it was a miracle that I kept well until I got to Engelwood on the way home; where I was taken sick. And have been in bed ever since until yester-day. And O, the peace I have felt for going, both whilst there, and since my return; --no tongue can tell the peace, sweet peace! --my great reward. And before I left North Carolina I was asked 'to stay until I felt ready to go--and should be fur-nished with horse and buggy; for William and I to go wherever I wished to go. And two families of those that signed that paper;--for me not to come, asked me to their home; and were very kind to me. Others told the Friend, whom, I staid with; that she would be blessed for taking care of Ida Chamness.' It was marvelous how I was helped; and way made. William Stanley stood by me all the way; and felt no liberty to leave me. And with tears often spoke of how the Lord made way for me, and upheld me.
