old they call it Frank Edward after his and her brother Mat [illegible] and Ed Shepard were married three weeks ago last Thursday The joiners are at work in the up per part of the Academy Down where Martha was teaching they are having protracted meetings There was a crazy man by the name of Cheney from Holderness Village got up in meeting one night and said he thought religion was a good thing he was brought up under pious training his parents were both pious Cheney's only his mother was a Plummer before his Father married her and at another time screamed out "Oh the cream of tartar pole" and at another "we have got a good president this year" at another time Marth sat in front of him and he put his arms a round her neck She was up here last Thursday Jo Cummings & Curt are agoing to stay at home this summer and Noah says they may fix up as much as they are a mind to and in the fall will sell him one half and give them the other Cook's Mill was burned several weeks ago The Grants place in Walpole at the top of the hill there by Aunt Mary's home been burned Truman Pearsons has written to Melva Ann & Mary has sold out for $1000, and reserved the rights in the home garden wood shed barn &c until April 1867 The place is to be sold [illegible] next Wednesday She has interest on her money. Father lent Kate to Sam Malligan yesterday and he was gone all day with her and he did not ask him any thing but she paid him twenty or twenty five
