They are more particular at New London that at Meriden about the Graduating class. Mellissa Masstin at New Hampton only graduated in the Commercial school. Mr. Kelsey spoke very well in general of the schools in town - Mr. Davis he called like a Balm of a Thousand Flowers in school. He spoke very well of my school of [pennie?] Masstin's on the turnpike he said the teacher was stupid. Mr. Philbrick and wife have gone to [illegible] [illegible], then he pretends he is a going to but a place for [his?] and will leave for good. Mr Philbrick sold of the most of the furniture and Mrs. Philbrick tries to make [profile?] believe she has got half but does not tell the same story at all times. Helen and Martha are getting to be quite intimate at the West Plymouth, and [to?] [appearance?] Helen seems to be pretty [deep?] after Best [Garden?] I think she is rather short of Beaux. When Best [illegible] Helen he takes [Pill?] Blake along with him to take [the?] name off. They went up to Mr. [Tenants?]
