cause I didn't want them seen but because I thought I could trust you as I could myself. If any other person this side of Heaven had told me this, I would have called them a liar, but from your sister, oh Charlie, I can't think you've treated me well, I think you in the first place, have been di- ceiving me all this time, & I, not thinking that my letters met any persons eye but your own wrote just as I felt, always, What is your reason for treating me so? Did you think that you was fooling me finely? Or do you perfectly despise me? Oh Charlie, I have thought more of you than I cared to tell, but lately or within a year I haven't thought nearly as much of you, simply because I thought you cared nothing about me or but little, but can I believe this of you?
