Chariton Feb 21st 1870 Dear Nephew, I received your letter and was glad to learn you got home safe. I have not much news of importance, I have got the fence built and am trying to do the other work according to {illegible}. We have had some of the coldest weather since you have been gone that we have has this winter. I have not seen Truman since Saturday, if I had my way he would not come back, he stock? are all right? if keeps this kind of weather.
