Theodore Hawley, Attorney and Counselor-at-Law Fort Dodge, Iowa, Sept 9 1874 N. J. Scearce Esq Dr Sir Mr B. Grayson has handed me your letter to him of Aug 29th for answer. I have made inquiries as to Vulot find him a pretty hard nut to make any money out of, and very slow in paying his debts. Yet I think I could by obtaining judgement agt him, in the course of a year or two make your claim of him. I will take your claim put it in judgment at my own costs, and collect it as fast as possible, for one half the claim. Yours Truly Theo. Hawley
