no.1 June the 5th 1897 Heplar Kansas Well seaing that this is sunday & it a raney day i thought that i would take my seat & drop you a few lives to let you kno that we are all well at present hoping that theas few lines may find you all the same well every thing looks well here corn is doing well but the small grain is no good for the chinch bug has got it there is lots of peches here & thare will be some aples & Pumb & back berries the bushes is loded down we have had some cold weather here for the last too weaks & we had frost the last day of may & we had a big frost the 4 day of this month but it don kno harme
