Pine Plains Oct 15th 1860 Edw. I. Eno Dear Brother Yrs of 2d inst recd in which you state that you find an error in two items in our settlement of fathers estate as follows "1844 Dec 1 your draft on me at 4 mo- for $95.40 paid by you at maturity 1850 Jan 22 D. [illegible] at 90 day p[illeible]date 700. [alternative?] you paid $100.-on your new [illegible] Of course neither of us considering the times that have elapsed over 10 yrs can be aided by recollections of the matter & would have to depend when that was put down in writing & therefore one account would be as likely to be right as the other. I find on my acc. of charges as many paid by me for you the accounts the same as stated and I do not think I should have made them if it were not so, and when referring to my bank Book Pine Plains Bank. I find in the figures than writing of our cashier John F. Hull the same services charged to me as having been paid on the day both were [favorably?] payable, that is on the maturity of the Draft both were paid by me -- you must therefore be mistaken. I do not find any of the original drafts state in my account we had them on our settlement in 1854 and I think you took them whether so or not I could not [levy?] punitively if not then they are yet among my papers. Just look over again & I presume you will find it all right. You wish to know how much I
