Pine Plains Oct 27th 1866

Yours of Oct 19th recd In your letter of 9th inst you state that the draft  of Dec 1st 1869 for $95.40 at [illegible] [illegible] was paid by you at maturity in yours of 19th inst you state that you sent the money to me & not to the Bank & I must have forgot to indoor. it into [illegible] you also say that when you found a short time since, when Frank asked to see fathers journal, the account of your settlement, (which was Sept 1 1854) it struck you at (?) that some of them had been paid &c.  
When we settled over 6 years ago it why did not so you strike you - it was certainly then as fresh to your recollections as now.
Now as to my (?) matters I have always been in the habit of doing at once what was to be done - I cannot believe, as your payments were not so frequent occurrence that I should be apt to forget them, that I did do so.  But I do not now rely on
