campaign and I suppose I shall go with it. Frank has been ordered to Fort [illegible]. he thinks he will resign and settle down with a wife & [law?] in St. Louis. In my last I wish him if he could [see an end?] of the [war?] [illegible] I would like to have him remain, so that all my family might be "in at the death." [Henry?] has just been promoted to Captain, and received a very complimentary letter stating that it was for his fine success in an expedition he was sent on with his company in East Tennessee and the success & fine condition of his [illegible]
