coming out here I wish you would visit Call I think it would repay you for the journey if you are coming write and I will deffer my visit East untill after you have ben here Where is Mary tell her to write me I have given up Mrs. Eno writing me Rogers is still on the Police force but expect to loose his office to make room for the newly Elected Officers friends as all political offices go by favouriteism in this Country I expect none but Southern sympathisers will live upon Uncle Sam we have a great deal of contention upon the Negro's rights for my part I think the Irish is no better only one Shade whiter outside If I was a Catholick I should not worship either race if I ever a man I would be a now nothing I am positive. it is sickening to be ruled by Irish rulers it is a burning shame to have foreginers to come to America and the first thing be Elected to office as if we wer not capable to select from our own people but had to axcept foregin wisdon do not think I am a politicial
