for Buchannon arrived there on the 9th. 11th Started for Rich Mountain to have a fight with the Rebels got there same night but too late for the fight as the Ind 10th & 13th and Ohio 3rd & 9th Regiments had cleared them out. 12 passed over the battle field and saw the carnage, been hot work. Our Regiment ordered to follow the Rebels as they retreated. Arrived at Beverly late in evening but no enemy there. 15th followed on to Huttonville bu they had gone from there followed on to Cheat Mountain pass found they ware too far ahead. Went into Camp and remained there until
