ever boy[s] done cheering it was then which no doubt made secesh think there was something in the wind sure. We fully expected to see the enemy in line of battle at daylight but we looked in vain for they ware nowhere to be seen. Sent out scouts and found they ware holding their positions but not appearing to be ready to advance. Several skirmishes through the day. We know of 5 of their men that fell wounded and 2 killed.
