ing march we have ever had as the road is nothing but a bridle path and mostly up the steep side of the mountain and all the way slippery and muddy. We arrived at "Camp Kimble" at 8 P.M. and made our beds among the rocks on the north side of the mountain but could sleep but little [illeg] too cold arrive had no tents to shelter us from the wind and dew. From what can find out I think the movement means [illeg] attack on the Rebel camp at Green Brier bridge 12 miles South East. The boys are all very tired but would most cheering go ahead tonight if there was a prospect of a fight but perhaps they will not be so [inclined?] after trying it once.
