Rebels. Our [guns?] soon advanced to within 1/2 mile of their strongest position and took position in a meadow and for the next 2 hours the cannonading of both sides was most terrific and by 10 1/2 Oclock Cap Loomis had succeeded in silencing 3 of the enemies batteries. At this time the 15th Ind and 25th Ohio had orders to advance and then in connection with the 14th Ind ware ordered to prepare for to charge bayonet.
