more discouraging to the boys and it will be verry hard to bring them back to their proper decipline again. Wrote a letter to Vanscozoe. Jan 17th Weather been mild all day but is raining tonight. It is reported that we are to remove 10 or 12 miles further south soon in hopes of bettering the health of the men. Hope it may for it needs something badly to help it along. Only 50 men in the whole Regiment on Battalion drill this forenoon. All the rest on guard, getting wood, or on the sick list. I fear
