clock and marched 6 miles over a hilly and poor country with very bad roads. Encamped at what is called the twin springs. A place where 2 verry large streams flow out of the hillside which when connected form a good sized creek. Feb 21. On the march at 8 Oclock marched 5 miles over country same as yesterday. which brought us to Mumfordville the county seat of Hart Co. The town is a verry insignificant place of about 40 houses mostly of hewed logs. And the general appearance is more like a barn yard in the spring than the
