28th, Cos E & H on picket at the foot of the hill, Guard a woman's house and property, Get some blankets and knapsacks left by the 15th Ala. one of the regts that fought us yesterday Cut all the timber in our front Hookers army made a junction with us about 5 P.M. under a heavy fire from Lookout, they having come down through the valley past Lookout. The 11th Corps left rested upon our left hill, or at the foot, Hooker and Butterfield passed across the bridge The 11" & 12" Corps make junction with us, our object here to take and hold these hills and the crossing so they could receive reinforcements from Chattanooga .
